As part of my theme throughout my collection, creating a structural element was a key factor for this project. I wanted to create something more unusual within the field of textiles and create a unique surface pattern which combine my skills as a textile designer. As well as creating fabric wall hangings, samples and paper work, I created various designs and screen printed onto wood as I wanted to add a unique design element to this project and create something different. I created a series of wooden wall, floor and general tiles fit for any purpose in order to add elements of 3D structure, beautiful textural surface design which highlight the heritage of Glasgow’s Shipyards. Each tile consists of screen prints and laser cut designs which continue to link in with my project theme and help create an unusual but modern twist to my collections.
