My current collection has been inspired by the beautiful geometrical structures which frame the city of Glasgow. Glasgow is known for it’s powerful trading industry from it’s shipyards which included sales of tobacco when they first began to currently supplying machinery/parts to the Royal Navy.
My aim was to add a modern twist to the intertwining cranes and machines which create a beautiful silhouette to the city’s skyline. The cranes were my main inspiration as they were full of geometric pattern, structure and the overall design of the crane fitted perfectly with my style of work. As I am from Glasgow, it felt fitting to base my collection on my city’s history in order to re-introduce the audience (and myself) to what has made Glasgow the city it is today. My collections are aimed for commercial interiors but having experience within fashion, I would happily adapt to whichever purpose it can be suited for.
