Before I start…here’s a link to a great piece of music that is mentioned near the end of this post but I wanted to put the video here so you could listen while you read!…Introducing more of my musical side!
A beautiful piece of music. Clair De Lune – Claude Debussy
So I have started my drawing project and it is now a week in and I feel that I still have lots and lots to do! This project is all about culture and identity so for this, I decided (actually decided! and if you know me, I am a very indecisive person.) to base my project on how indecisive I am…very fitting!
When you think about being indecisive, it seems impossible to pick something to draw so I have been drawing objects that I have kept and cannot decide to throw away. Such as: Perfume bottles, jewellery…even if broken, old Birthday,Christmas cards etc, hand-made gifts etc and gifts that have been given to me over the years. Some of my objects see very random in amongst each other in one sketchbook but I hope my theme comes through throughout my sketchbook.
I have a range of musical objects as I used to play the Trumpet whilst in secondary school. I still have it but haven’t been able to play as much due to university work unfortunately. I still enjoy playing it a lot though! these musical objects will surely appear in my sketchbook as music was a pretty big part of my life in school and it reminds me of all the wonderful memories.
So that’s a part of my project so far! but instead of some photographs of drawings, I wanted to share a beautiful piece of music. One which you will have no doubt heard! When I first started playing piano, I always wanted to play this piece..sadly I never got to as it is at a very high level however, I will teach myself one day!
Here is the lovely and relaxing Clair De Lune – Claude Debussy
Hope you enjoy and give it a listen!
